Silent Struggle

Confidently convey what thee wish to listen
What slim expectations thou harbour to hear,
An abhorrent grim tale too bitter to speak
Infused with a poignance too tough to bear...

Of a man born ingenious; artful and fair
Searching for an indentity; a role to play
In a society driven by whims one where
While tracing a personality, goes astray

A world where souls are no more existent
Ethics are shadowed by studies of science
Where seamless desires torment all men,
And morals lie solely in the dilemma of Heinz

Where self esteem is declared narcissism
And shyness is synonymous to insecurity
Expression of emotions is labelled neurosis
Where normalcy is hurled upon forcefully

Where raw feelings are fake pretensions
And survival instincts, defense mechanisms  Where thoughts are flawed; filled with errors
And all sufferings are due to mental tremors

Where true actuality is often delusional
Nothing is absolute but severe pain
Where spirits surround in hallucinations
And trauma hides in the unconscious brain

Where knowledge is such a curse
Every valid fear is treated as phobia
Positive regard is no more prevalent
As every threat is considered paranoia

Where therapists are entirely complacent
People hopelessly filled with sheer vanity
Oscillating to strike an ideal balance in life
When it appears quite better to embrace insanity...

Thus on this day, I seek to be open
Attend to the sufferings of each soul
One that has faced the trial of society
For being different in this world whole

For those men who gravely fear
To emerge out of the awful void
Where misery awaits them to bear
The fruits of agony; sympathy devoid

I now intend to apprise you
Of all such grim things,
Fear has brutally inflicted
On the people who now sing

Of all the true hardships they have faced
Depression and anxiety; no trace of solace
Disorders as they have been termed now
Mental problems which progress at a pace

We need to actually learn
We need to be really kind
Empathic should we be
For the world to be divine

For all those who overtly differ
For all those who covertly suffer
Fear shouldn't be their sole pillar
As humans we shouldn't be bitter

Therefore times are such when
One needs to profess the message
That we are to be generous enough
To acknowledge their problem;
Instill in them courage

To honestly face this world
To firmly fight to recuperate
And we must be their comrades
Forever present with vital aid...
