The Secret to Pleasure

So the season is here of flakes and snow
Succeeding the legacy of fall to bestow
Directions and ambitions for a new throne
A new impetus; hitherto I hadn't known

The whispers of the desolate wind
Kissing my lonesome longing soul
The waves of elixir speak highly of
Which in entirety is the ultimate goal

Satiate it would all humanly thirst I am told
When remark the brave stars with asperity
An aim too heavy for tremulous ocean to hold
Unattainable for a soul devoid of true divinity

In quest of which thousand men have withdrawn
From windless valleys into deserts vermillion
Hopelessly proceeding in the vast grey expanse
Embittered and lost, they drowned in oblivion

Wandered they till breathless seas,
Greeted there were by cold arid breeze
All they found was bitter-wild and black
In a rush for peace, met unsettling setback

But my heart is full of new love's glory
My eyes stand laughing; totally unafraid
Spilling confidence, no place for a tear
The past lies buried far too deep to fear

For miserably they missed an essential clue
To all the real treasures of life one can savor
The secret to which is seemingly open for all
Witness to it is every season and rich flavour
Veritably fulfilling; good heavens its literature!
